Text Message Terms

The Cape Cod Dryer Vent Cleaning Appointment Alerts program — what we send, and how to stop it.

The program

Cape Cod Dryer Vent Cleaning operates a text message program called Cape Cod Dryer Vent Cleaning Appointment Alerts. It exists to keep you informed about a dryer vent cleaning you have booked with us. It is not a marketing list, and we do not send promotions, offers, or advertising through it.

What we send

  • A confirmation when you book, or when we confirm a request you made
  • A reminder the day before your appointment
  • A message when the technician is on the way
  • A receipt when the work is done and payment has been taken
  • A one-time review request after the job
  • A reminder about a year later that the vent is due again
  • A message about your appointment typed by one of us when something changes
  • Replies to questions you text us

Message frequency varies — typically 3 to 5 messages per appointment booked, plus a reminder about once a year.

Sign up for appointment texts

If you would like appointment updates by text, you can start them here. Nothing is pre-ticked, and you can stop at any time by replying STOP to any message we send you.

See our text message terms and privacy policy. We never sell or share your number.

Tick the box above to continue.

How you opt in

There are four ways into this program, and every one of them starts with you. We never add a number ourselves, and we do not buy, rent, or otherwise acquire numbers from anyone.

1. Opt-in form on our text message terms page

Where: https://dryerventcleaningcapecod.com/sms

  1. The consumer opens our text message terms page. It is linked in the footer of every page on the site and needs no account, login, or purchase to read.
  2. The page describes the whole program above the form: what we send, how often, how to stop, how to get help, and that message and data rates may apply.
  3. Under the heading "Sign up for appointment texts" there is a form asking for their name and their mobile number.
  4. Below those fields is one checkbox, unticked. The consumer must tick it themselves; the button stays disabled until they do.
  5. The checkbox label is the consent language quoted below, shown in full beside the box rather than hidden behind a link.
  6. Directly beneath the checkbox are links to these text message terms and to our privacy policy.
  7. The consumer presses "Sign up for appointment texts". A Cloudflare Turnstile check confirms they are a person.
  8. We store the mobile number, the date and time, their IP address, the page URL, and the exact wording they were shown, and we keep that record after any later opt-out.
  9. We send one confirmation text: "Cape Cod Dryer Vent: you are subscribed to appointment updates. Msg frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to cancel."

The exact words you agree to:

I agree to receive text messages from Cape Cod Dryer Vent Cleaning about my appointment: confirmation, a reminder the day before, an on-my-way message, and a receipt. Message frequency varies — typically 3 to 5 messages per appointment booked, plus a reminder about once a year. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of purchase.

2. Checkbox on our online booking form

Where: https://dryerventcleaningcapecod.com/book

  1. The consumer decides to book a dryer vent cleaning and reaches our booking form.
  2. The form has five screens: which service they want, choosing a day and an arrival window, their contact details, a few questions about the vent, and confirming the booking.
  3. On the third screen — "Your details", where they enter name, telephone number, email and address — there is one checkbox, unticked.
  4. The consumer must tick it themselves. It is never pre-ticked, and the booking completes whether they tick it or not: consent is not a condition of purchase.
  5. The checkbox label is the consent language quoted below, shown in full beside the box.
  6. Directly beneath the checkbox are links to our text message terms and our privacy policy.
  7. On submission we store the mobile number, the date and time, their IP address, the page URL, and the exact wording shown.
  8. The first text the number receives has "Reply STOP to opt out." appended to it.

3. Spoken consent when booking by telephone

Where: (508) 593-7643

  1. The consumer telephones our business line to book a cleaning. We never call consumers who have not contacted us first.
  2. While taking the booking, a member of staff reads the script quoted below word for word and asks for a yes or a no.
  3. If the answer is no, the booking proceeds without texts and we confirm by email, or by telephone if we have no email address.
  4. If the answer is yes, the staff member ticks a consent box in our internal CRM against that customer.
  5. The CRM records which member of staff took the consent, the date and time, and the exact script that was read.
  6. The first text the number receives has "Reply STOP to opt out." appended to it.

The exact words you agree to:

Can we text you about this appointment? You would get a confirmation, a reminder the day before, and a message when we are on the way. Message and data rates may apply, and you can reply STOP any time to end them.

4. Texting START to our business number

Where: (508) 593-7643

  1. The consumer sends START to (508) 593-7643 from their own handset.
  2. The consumer originates this message, so the consent is their own act and there is no screen of ours for them to have read first.
  3. We record the number, the keyword, and the date and time.
  4. Twilio replies with our opt-in confirmation: "Cape Cod Dryer Vent: you are subscribed to appointment updates. Msg frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to cancel."

No disclosure is shown beforehand, because you sent us the message — the confirmation you get back carries the frequency, the rates notice, and how to stop.

Consent is not a condition of purchase. If you would rather not be texted, book anyway — we will email you, or call you if you have not given us an email address.

Texts that are not part of this program

Two messages go out as replies to something you did, rather than because you opted in:

  • When somebody rings our business line and we cannot answer, we send that caller one text with a link to our booking page.
  • When somebody rings our business line and chooses the "text me a booking link" option from the phone menu, we send that same text.

Both are a single message, both answer a call you made to us, and replying STOP to either one stops us texting that number again.

How to stop

Reply STOP to any message from us. You will get one final confirmation and then nothing further. This stops everything, including appointment reminders and the on-my-way message — we will call you instead.

These words all work: STOP, STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT, REVOKE, OPTOUT. You will receive:

Cape Cod Dryer Vent: you are unsubscribed and will receive no further texts. Reply START to resubscribe, or call (508) 593-7643.

To start again, reply START, YES, UNSTOP, SUBSCRIBE, and you will receive:

Cape Cod Dryer Vent: you are subscribed to appointment updates. Msg frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to cancel.

How to get help

Reply HELP, INFO to any message, and you will receive:

Cape Cod Dryer Vent: appointment updates for jobs you book with us. Call (508) 593-7643. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel.

You can also call us on (508) 593-7643 or email cole@dryerventcleaningcapecod.com. We are here Mon–Sat, 7am–6pm.

Costs

Message and data rates may apply. We do not charge you anything for these messages, but your mobile carrier may, depending on your plan. Check with your carrier if you are unsure.

Carriers and delivery

Messages are sent through Twilio and delivered by your mobile carrier. Delivery is not guaranteed and messages may be delayed. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Because of that, we never rely on a text alone for anything that matters — if you have given us an email address, everything important is also emailed to you, and if we cannot reach you we will call.

Your information

We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile number or your consent to be texted with anyone for their own marketing purposes. No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Your number is shared only with Twilio, who carry the messages on our behalf, and only so they can deliver them.

Our Privacy Policy covers everything else we hold about you, why, and for how long, and our Terms of Service cover the work itself.

Supported carriers

All major US carriers, including AT&T, Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile, Sprint, Boost, U.S. Cellular, MetroPCS, Cricket, and Google Voice. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Changes

If we change this program we will update this page and the date at the top. A change to what we send, rather than to how we describe it, is announced in advance by text and email.
